'A RIVER OF GOLD.'..or misplaced values

We know about our water and how we are abusing it,
we know there are Canadians who do not have clean water,
and in the name of progress and technology and greed and neglect,
we are destroying the lands,
abusing/polluting our rivers and streams, ponds and lakes.
...breakdown of 167 subwatersheds reveals the pressures that
different parts of Canada's water systems face....
overall stress level, pollution, alteration of water flow,
water use, habitat loss, fragmentation of ecosystems,
invasive species, climate change.

...submission to the South Simcoe Arts Council 'Ontario 150 Arts on Main'...

 Acrylic on Canvas, 12" x 12"
It has been a long time since I painted a landscape.
As landscape was mentioned in the SSAC outline I gave it a try.
This is a farm close to where I live in Alliston.

... and this assemblage
...found objects in a California Printer's Tray...
the tray was painted black preserving the many brass corners.
I was reminded of Louise Nevelson when painting the all white objects
and then assembling them in the all black case.
Cottage Life includes my three grandchildren.
This piece reflects time spent with them.
